And back down--falling asleep while gripping his new favorite toy!
Saturday was a busy day. Nathan and the Middle Band were playing that night for Art Night at church. After a drowsy and cuddly morning, we went on with our respective days. Nathan left for music practice in the afternoon and Amos and I continued with our day, napping, cleaning up, etc. We went to Beth and Dan's for dinner and were pleasantly surprised when Nathan called to come meet us. He had a break and came over for yummy pizza. Amos found a new toy at their house: a paper plate! He played with it for a long time! Bethany won clothes-giving-sister-of-the-year when she gave me two pairs of jeans! I was elated! I felt like a new woman! I am pretty tired of my jeans choices right now, and none of my jeans fit me very well right now. And with the weight loss going slower than planned, new jeans were just the thing to lift my spirits!
After dinner we all headed to the church for a display of fine arts and performances of poetry and music. It was alot of fun, and there was alot of great art there. Uncle Joel, and his "band", Sad Max, played a song, that was upbeat and melodic. Jubilee, a jazzy-ish three piece played some very dancible music. Amos and I swayed in the balcony, me hoping he would fall asleep. It wasn't until the middle of the Middle Band's set that Amos finally caught a cat nap. The Middle Band is made up of players from the church band, with whom Nathan really enjoys playing and were able to learn the songs. The songs were anthems written in the past few years that we don't sing in church, but that are great songs. They did a great job and were well loved, for their first gig!
On the way home, Amos fell asleep again, gripping his new paper plate toy. I was able to successfully move him from his car seat, to swaddle, to bed!! And, he slept all night, letting me get a full night's sleep as well! What a great way to start Mother's Day....
