Well, this afternoon at about 2:30, we drove past the Indianapolis Speedway and arrived at our destination, our new home. The house that we will be renting and possibly buying has had an incident lately...a pipe burst in the attic, dripping water and caving part of the ceiling in over the master bedroom. There's other damage and folks have been there cleaning and working on it. We were excited to finally see the rest of the house and it's GIGANTIC! At least compared to our house in Seattle, that is. It's a really cool house, though, and in the coming days we'll be praying on whether or not we should buy it. It's going to need some additional work, though, we could probably live there for awhile without doing anything, at least on purpose. Who knows what can happen with these old houses! The neighborhood is so nice, though, and it's great to be so close to the Dorseys.
Our drive today was a walk in the park compared to the last week. We woke up and walked out to see the Mississippi River right in front of the hotel. It was so vast and huge and right there! Amos slept well this morning, although, decided not to fall asleep this afternoon until we were five minutes away. Nonetheless he caught a good nap and was happy to play on the floor once we made it here.
We've been driving around tonight and looking at what other housing options there are. We are exhausted and can't believe we're here. We hope to get some good sleep....
(Pictures of the house are coming soon...I'm not on our computer right now! Just wanted to give everyone an update!).
