So we have been continuing to enjoy the warm hospitality and fellowship with the Berend family, as 1439 Broadway is still under investigation (for various leaks and other issues) but are glad that we have a place to house the stuff.
On Monday night, Nathan was able to calculate that the house was too expensive for us, even at its great price. We were bummed but quickly began house hunting. We would appreciate prayer for that, too, as we are looking in lots of different neighborhoods, trying to stay close to our new church and its community. There are lots of options here and we are trying to feel out what's best. We spotted a house last night that has been remodeled, is all done and beautiful but was also out of our price range. I called the realtor today and after she lectured me that our offer was quite low, called back to arrange a time to see the house (tonight!!) and told us to still submit an offer, that the seller didn't say no when she told him about us. So.....that's exciting and we'll see what happens. It's in a great neighborhood, close to church and other "Redeemerites" and is big, but not too big (I think the Broadway house is also too big for us!).
Amos has a little cold, but we are fighting it with sleep, zycam and prayer. He's still as active as ever, army crawling to his little heart's content and is soooooo fast!
We have toured a few other neighborhoods here and I still feel really drawn to those closest to the church. So, again, we'll see. We don't know what God is doing with this whole housing thing, but know it's in his hands.
Other than that, we're trying not to just absolutely melt from the heat and humidity here. It's so stinking hot!
We hope you, our friends and family near and far are doing well. Someday, when things get settled, I'll send out our information and things will be back up to speed!
