...Praise God from whom all blessings flow...

These days, I find myself wanting to sing the doxology (which starts with the line above) because I feel more and more fragile and exposed in this world, and more and more grateful for protection and goodness from God.
We are thankful for our health and new home; we are thankful that Amos' shunt is working, and that despite a cold, is still wiggling and talking. That is he is continuing to learn and grow and change every day.
We are thankful for the RSV shot that Amos got yesterday to protect him from lung infections.
We are thankful that today he knows who his daddy is and points to him, saying, "Da-da!"
We are thankful for our friends and families; for their health and well being, all over the world.
We are thankful for unborn babies who continue to thrive in their mothers' wombs--for Bethany and Jessica, who faithfully care for themselves and their unborn children.
We are thankful for employment and a church; for a good time of fellowship with the Berends upon our arrival to Indy.
I am thankful for a husband who loves and cares for me; without him my life would be so different and probably less full and definitely more dull! And for a son so sweet and wonderful, who is a treat to be with.
It's been a good day to think about my life and the good things about it as we've unpacked, set up rooms and made turkey dinner. Makes me want to sing...
"Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise him all creatures, here below. Praise him above ye heavenly hosts; praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen."
