Sorry I've been so remiss in posting. We've had such a busy week and although I tried to post this one last week, I've actually finished it on the 29th! I have a whole other story to tell, too! So I hope to do another post soon. But first, here's the update:
Amos Update:
Amos Update:
As you'll read about below, Amos was very clingy and cranky while in TN. But last Wednesday, I felt two new teeth that had just broken through: the top two teeth! That explains everything! He's now working on getting his second bottom tooth in. Hopefully, this time we'll know and will be able to give him some medicine!
In other Amos news, he has been pretending, lately, which we find to be a bit ahead of the curve! Last week he was pretending to feed himself, Nathan and Ellis from a closed bag of dried pasta. He regularly pretends to feed himself and others, with the spoon and with his hands. And this morning, he found a diaper on the floor and tried to put it on. He is too smart, it seems!
House Update:
Well, it looks as though we are going to be able to close next Tuesday and be able to start moving things in, painting, etc. on Wednesday!!! Woo hoo! We are sooo excited to have a house, and a great one, at that! Today (Oct 29th) marks five months that we have been transient, with my kitchen packed up and no real place to call home. But it's been a good time and we will be thankful to have our own place again.
Our Trip to Nashville, Oct 21-22
We went to Nashville to help my mom celebrate her 50th birthday. And had a fabulous time!
We drove to Nashville Sunday afternoon, to be there to help my mom celebrate her 50th birthday! The drive was beautiful and Amos did well on the way there. We had fun playing together and seeing the beautiful trees as we drove to the beautiful south.
Happy 50th Birthday Mom!!
We arrived in TN to celebrate with my mom, who was having a party at the Overlook, a spot by Mr. Leeson's house, that is literally an overlook, looking over the trees and the valley. It was beautiful evening, with perfect weather and fun with the ladies in my mom's bible study.

Fun with Grammy Carole, Aunt Christen and Uncle Aaron!
After partying for a bit, we headed home to hang out with the Partain side of the family. Christen and Aaron came over and played with Amos and then we were joined by Grammy Carole who brought Amos' birthday presents. We had fun opening them together and playing on them! Amos, being the stinker that he is, was really fussy but had fun playing with new toys and his Grammy.

Never thought I'd see the day...

Monday, October 22nd (her actual birthday!)
Monday began with my mom's favorite thing to do: drinking coffee on the front porch. She came and woke us all up after she heard the Amos was awake. After breakfast, we decided to go and check out the new Old Navy, on the way to Nashville. It was a huge store (like our multi-leveled store in downtown Seattle) and we racked up a big bill in no time. We had a blast, as usual, seeing what we could find and trying things on.
Our good friends Megan Martin and her son Levi came over to play Monday afternoon. Megan is expecting her second child and is about 24 weeks along. Levi, who is almost 5 is so excited about being a big brother and has been a great helper to my mom at their prenatal appointments. My mom is really excited to be their midwife again and the hope to have a wonderful homebirth together.

It was so good to see Megan and Levi! The boys had fun playing together, too!

Again, Nathan baked the cake at the last minute, saving the day!

Nose pickin' and Grandmarmie!
Playing with Grandaddy!

The drive home was wet and wild. We stopped for lunch and then things got better!
We had such a great time. And were happy to be living so close to make the drive to help celebrate!
