Take a deep breath...

Amos works hard to give Abby a new hairdo!

The meany crows stole our baggie of cheerios off the back porch and took it to the neighbor's roof!

One tired little guy.

Well, the saga continues. Today the construction guys are tearing out the rest of the walls and the ceiling of our kitchen. The work was going to be too time and labor intensive if left in. So...we are hanging out with the aunts today, and got here bright and early.
Things have continued to be busy around the house. The cabinets arrived Thursday morning, and are stacked to the ceiling in the living room. Our house is slowly becoming less of a liveable space and more of a "site" for all things remodel. Also on Thursday, I had a trash hauler guy come out and haul away the pile of kitchen that was on the side of our house. You can really tell alot about something, by the profession they're in. This guy was particularly strange, explaining why he doesn't work with the general public! Thursday night we had dinner at Beth and Dan's, making use of their hibatchy. We had bbq chicken and it was gooo-oooo-oood.
Friday was our stay-at-home day, because we could, and it turned out to be a bit boring. I got the laundry done and things cleaned up a bit. But as I explained, it doesn't really feel like a place to hang out and stuff. So when Nathan called for dinner, we decided to head to Duke's (our favorite seafood place) for dinner outside, on a lovely evening. Abby joined us and we ended up seeing good friends, the Watermans, there too. After dinner, we headed back to Beth and Dan's house for some Scrabble and merryment.
Saturday morning came early and we all enjoyed being together in the morning, which rarely happens. Our good friend Chad came over and helped Nathan continue building the shed. Our neighbors next door had a birthday party in the backyard and we watched the party from the porch. We intended to go over, but Saturday projects got the better of us. Abby came over and helped take care of Amos while I helped Nathan work more on the shed.
Sunday we enjoyed church at Green Lake and caught up with friends there. We headed for Thai for lunch afterward where we ended the hour with a poo fiasco. Let's just say that Amos' diaper leaked and after an extended time of cleaning up booth and baby, we left there smelling bad and Amos wrapped in a sweatshirt. We had baths all around, at home, then naps. We ended our Sabbath with dinner with Laura, Dan and Luke across the street. Again, bittersweet that we have such a short time with them.
On Wednesday we officially decided to move to Indianapolis. It was a sobering moment to make the final desicion. We sort of put it off until the church there sent us an offer, and on Wednesday, we got the offer and made the decision. It's sad to leave Seattle and I am starting to really let that sink in. It's going to be great to have a different, less stressful, closer to family lifestyle, but it'll take awhile, I think, for it to feel like home and am prepared for a season of change and upheaval. Actually, it's already begun.
So after we made the decision, we looked at the timetable, which of course, came sooner than we thought. We are going to try to ship out as soon as possible in the first week of August. We are praying that our house sells in record time and that the kitchen is done on time, too. Things will be crazy, the closer it gets: my parents are slated to come for Amos' birthday in late July as we are packing and doing the final projects. It will be great to have their help, though!
Please remember us in your thoughts and prayers, that our house sells and that things are able to be finished in time. Of course, the stress level is always in danger of getting higher than it should, and if we think about things for too long, we get too overwhelmed!
So, thanks for your care.
